That Boy Can Sing!

No, I'm not tootin my own horn. I'm talking about Bon Jovi's buddy, Richie Sambora. I was listening to some of their new CD, LOST HIGHWAY- maybe not the greatest Bon Jovi album ever, but their still crankin out the hits! And every time I hear a new song, it's Richie that stands out. Now more than ever. I can't believe that he's still singin those notes- a true unsung hero. Every time John sings to the rafters, Richie comes up with an amazing harmony. Not only do his harmonies continue to be inventive and musically fulfilling, but they're always higher than the melody that John is singing. Don't get me wrong, Bon Jovi is not Bon Jovi without John. He's an incredible singer/songwriter and excellent showman- not a bad actor either. But without Richie's vocal harmonies, not to mention stellar guitar playing, they might be just another really good band.

Someday, when I'm working in a studio with my own producer, preparing for tours, I hope to have a collaborator as talented and creative as Richie Sambora.
